Fusion Mineral Paint Little Lamb
Hey y’all and happy Friday! When I have fusion mineral paint in my hand no furniture is safe from my paint brush! After refinishing the dresser I posted about a week ago I decided I needed another painting project. I also just REALLY wanted to paint something else using the “Little Lamb” gray. It’s such a beautiful medium gray and matches the rug in our living room perfectly.
Last year I refinished my grandpa’s cabinet he made before I was even born, and I just wasn’t that happy with it. I’ve been carrying this piece around with me since my first apartment in college. It’s a sentimental piece that I hold near and dear to my heart. I had painted it white with chalk paint and put on a glaze to make it look like a reverse white wash. You can read about that technique here. It was ok, but it didn’t really coordinate with anything in the room especially with our hardwood floors. Here’s a look at what she looked like before her painted makeover.
I didn’t have to prep this piece other than a good wipe down with a slightly damp microfiber cloth. I always like to be sure there are no dust or cobwebs anywhere before I paint. I painted two coats, letting the first coat dry for a good hour or two. It’s usually dry to the touch within 30 minutes.
And here she is now after her “Little Lamb” Makeover!
This paint is a matte finish and goes on like a dream! If you want to read a more in depth review of this the fusion mineral paint you can read my past blog review here. I might distress it with sandpaper, but I haven’t decided yet. I like to give it a few days to see how I feel and then decide.
It’s always so amazing how just a few coats of paint can totally make a piece of furniture look so new and fresh again. I am a firm believer in this paint, and honestly don’t think I’ll be going back to any other type of paint for quite sometime!
So with one bottle of paint I was able to paint a dresser and this cabinet, and I still have paint left over. Both pieces took two coats. Needless to say that’s pretty freakin’ amazing!
