Spring Home Tour

Welcome back y’all! I was snapping some pics for Instagram today and I was immediately inspired to share some shots of our home all decorated for Spring before the sweltering Southern Summer is upon us. This weekend it’s supposed to be in the 90’s here in Georgia! Everything is in full bloom for sure. I went for a walk around the neighborhood the other morning and the whole day I was immediately struck with the dreaded allergies. The joys of Spring, pretty blooms with a side of snotty noses. With that being said, I hope you will enjoy this little mini tour of our Spring home.

I never thought I would be into faux plants and flowers but if you pick the right type they can really have a realistic appearance. I get most of my faux plants and flowers from Michaels and Hobby Lobby. Ikea also has some great small potted plants as well. Just adding some green to any space gives it a bit of warmth and life.

During Springtime I love to have fresh flowers in at least one area of the house. I have to be careful where I place them because a certain furry friend loves to eat them. I typically just pick them up from our local grocery store that way I don’t feel too guilty. One day when we have more space I would love to plant a cut flower garden.

I think one area of our home I was struggling with for so long was the space above our cabinets in our kitchen. I got some inspiration from Jessica’s kitchen from @idreamofhomemaking over on Instagram. I just loved her bright beautiful flowers above her cabinets. So I took to my trusted Hobby Lobby and picked up some half price blooms of various colors. I found the aluminum buckets from Michaels on 50% off as well. I love the added color it brings to our kitchen, and the black aluminum buckets bring out a good contrast with our black and white kitchen. It also helps to draw your eyes up making the room feel larger as well.

My Spring coffee bar was inspired by the colorful typewriter font Rae Dunn mugs my mom found for me. I thought they were so fun and they coordinated with my grandma’s gum ball machine as well. For the most part our home is neutral so it’s nice to play around with color every once in awhile, and I think Spring and Summer is the perfect time for that.

Can we talk lemons? I have been a little lemon obsessed as you can tell from my photos. I love a little pop of yellow for Spring. It’s a cheerful color and I love how it looks with our Oyster Bay wall color as well.

This little fresh flower display I put together in our entryway looked good in my head but its execution was well, a disaster of sorts. Within a matter of 2 days both of my shutters had fallen off the wall due to the weight of the cement flower pots. Hey, but at least I got in the shots before disaster struck. I did break my favorite white pitcher so I was a little sad about that. The scroll is made by one of my Insta friends, Pam @lilranchonbushclover . She has an Etsy store with beautiful signs and scrolls. I just love her designs! Go check her out!

This post would not be complete without mentioning one of my favorite Spring purchases. That is the beloved Magnolia Table Cookbook by Joanna Gaines. It has some amazing dishes in it. We have tried the Cod in Parchment, The King Ranch Chicken, Beef Tenderloin, Jo Jo’s biscuits and delicious Raspberry Chipotle Pork Tenderloin. If you don’t already have it…you need it. Trust me! As you can see I’ve flagged some other favorites that I can’t wait to try!

That completes this little Spring Tour of our home. I wish you all the best this season.

Thank you so much little birdies for flying by my nest! I appreciate all of your love and support more than you know. If you haven’t already be sure to subscribe to my little blog to stay in the loop. 🙂

xoxo,

Robyn

Beautiful! Can I ask where you found the lipped farmers sink? We are doing a remodel and due to way existing granite has to be cut we have to find a lipped one!
    TY!

Hi Ashley! I purchased our sink about 3 years ago at IKEA. They don’t make this particular style anymore, but they do have a very similar one. I’ll link it here https://fave.co/2lGO8bb
It’s pretty much the same but it doesn’t have the drying rack on the back of it. I hope this helps. I really wished they wouldn’t have discontinued the Domsjo because I really would have purchased 2. lol!
