Fusion Mineral Paint Fort York Red
Hey y’all and welcome back to Transformation Tuesday! Today I wanted to share the Fusion Mineral Paint in Fort York Red. This is by far the brightest color I’ve tried from their line. I’ve had this side table for over 10 years and I thought it needed a little update. Our extra bedroom upstairs has all primary colors, so I thought it would be perfect for a side table in between our two twin beds. Usually this bedroom is where our nephews sleep when they come to visit, so it’s definitely more on the boyish side.
I’m not typically a red person but my husband is. He loves all the primary colors. To prep this piece I just used some sand paper and sanded it all over just to get rid of any build up on the table. The top of the table needed the most sanding due to wear and tear over the years. I then just took a sightly damp microfiber cloth and wiped it down to be sure no dust particles were on it. I let it dry for a couple minutes before going in with the paint.
I started with the bottom of the table first.
Painting round legs and rungs can be a little tricky. I suggest doing very sheer coats. Be sure you don’t have a lot of paint on your brush otherwise you will get drip marks. Less is more!
After one coat of paint.
I ended up doing three coats just like my vanity with English Rose. For some reason the lighter colors you can get away with two coats, but with the pigmented colors you seem to need three.
You know Mr. Sunny D. had to make an appearance! He says he approves!
I love how the table now ties into the rug. It’s almost as if I planned it. LOL!
I really love how this piece turned out. I highly recommend this beautiful red. Some reds are too orangey but this one is not. It’s definitely a true red without being super fire engine red if that makes sense. This next sentence is hard for me to say coming from a Carolina Gamecock fan, but I’ll go ahead and say it. Georgia Bulldog fans this red is perfect for you!
Thank you for flying by today! If you’ve tried Fort York Red by Fusion Mineral Paint let me know in the comments. I couldn’t find many blogs about it so I hope that this was helpful for y’all!
