English Ivy Wreath Tutorial

I had this vision of a large English Ivy Wreath that I couldn’t get out of my head. I of course couldn’t find what I was looking for, so I decided to just make it myself. Here’s my quick and easy English ivy wreath tutorial that only cost me around $30!

Grapevine wreaths are usually pretty inexpensive. I like to get mine from Hobby Lobby, especially when they are on 40% off. I had found some ivy vines on Amazon but I wanted them to be fuller so I also picked up a few ivy garlands from Amazon. I will have all of the supplies linked below.

I started by wrapping the vines all around the grapevine. I used minimal floral wire since I just tucked the ends into the grapvine. This step took a little while because there were 12 vines in total. Then I doubled the ivy garlands from Hobby Lobby and wrapped those all around the wreath. I did secure these with floral wire because they were doubled and heavier. You can always go back in with wire to tie down any loose bits.

I told you it was easy! I think in total it was about 15 minutes of work but totally worth it. For Easter I may add a white sash to the bottom of it. I do prefer the natural look of it. Our property has English Ivy all around so it definitely ties into the landscape.

Tip: Don’t be like me and not wear gloves or long sleeves. I highly recommend wearing both unless you want to look like you got into a fight with a cat. 🙂

I hope you’ve enjoyed this tutorial and let me know if you make your own English Ivy Wreath.
