Pantry Organization

Happy Friday! Each week I have been trying to tackle different areas of our home to make them more efficient and organized. This week I decided to take on our pantry. In the past I’ve tried putting everything in bins, but it really got to be a hassle trying to figure out what was where.  It looks really nice, but it just wasn’t functional for us. I’ll take function over looks any day of the week. I’m a very visual person and I like to see when things are running low. I will have all items I used for this little project listed below for y’all. I hope you’ll enjoy this fun little pantry organization project!

Y’all know I don’t doctor any of the before pics. This is as REAL life as it gets! How crazy disorganized does this look?!!! AHHH!!!!

I first went through and threw out any expired items or stuff that could be taken out of its box in order take up less space. I filled up a whole lawn trash bag full of stuff! Crazy right! It’s amazing what will collect in your pantry over time!

I then went over to Dollar Tree and picked up some white bins for the bottom shelf to house smaller items. I put snacks in one, our favorite Idahoan Potatoes in one, and extra k-cups in the last one. I also picked up another clear tupperware bin for my sprinkles and stuff to decorate cupcakes. They also had an over the door coat hanger so I could hang up my aprons on the door for easy access. Awhile back I had purchased these black and white placemats from Dollar Tree as well to put on our wire shelves so that stuff would stand up properly, especially for the liquids! There is nothing more maddening than stuff falling in between those silly little cracks! I highly recommend doing this if you have wire racks like this! It also makes it a little prettier too!

I purchased these 1/2 Gallon Anchor Hocking glass jars from Wal-Mart awhile back, but you can also get them on Amazon. I like to fill them up with all the regular items we use on a weekly basis. These are also a nice visually so you know when you are running low. For our wedding we had registered for these awesome oxo containers and I highly recommend them! I keep all the stuff that wouldn’t necessarily fit in a giant glass jar.

I used some of these chalkboard labels I purchased from Amazon and labeled them with this Gold Pen Touch Calligraphy pen. They would also look cute with a chalk pen but mine just wasn’t fine enough. For the tubs I used these clip on chalkboard clips that Chris had picked up once from the Dollar Spot at Target. I found some similar ones for you guys linked below. I thought they would be perfect for labeling these tubs!

I hung up our grocery bag keeper on the inside of the pantry so we could have easy access to these bags. Before we were just stuffing them into the depths of our pantry. I like to reuse them as our smaller trash can bags all over the house.

On the floor I keep all of our plastic bags, trash bags, our bin full of party supplies and any extra drinks.

These wire shelves on the left door were actually already installed so I just cleaned them out a bit for all of our smaller items and tupperware.

I moved all of our liquids up a shelf so we could easily find them now that they are on eye level.

Well that is all y’all! Now I can actually admire this pantry and not cringe every time the doors are open! I hope y’all have a great weekend! Happy Organizing!
