Neutral Christmas Tree

This year I decided to keep our main tree in our den rather neutral. This room has a lot of warm tones with the wood, curtains and the grasscloth so I didn’t want to compete with those tones. I don’t think I’ve ever done an all neutral Christmas tree, but I am loving it! One of my favorite elements of this tree that really helped to bring in some natural textures is this gold pampas grass that I just stuck around the top of the tree. Then I added in a vintage vibe with velvet gold ribbon tied to my glass ornaments for a little special touch.

I decided to do a little DIY ornament with some left over gold bead garland I had. Most of the ornaments are from Target. I will link them all below. Using different shapes and sizes of ornaments will help give it more interest.

The neutral ribbon I found at Michaels. It was somehow marked as clearance but was in the regular Christmas ribbon. It’s a nice neutral wired ribbon. I highly suggest using wired ribbon when decorating for Christmas. Especially if you’re wanting to weave it in and out like I did here.

A little background on the tree itself. Chris and I purchased this beautiful 12 foot tree last year on clearance at Lowe’s. It was the largest display tree at the store. When Joe, the amazing associate who helped us, scanned the ticket it rang up at $270!! It was orginally a $700 tree. They helped us dismantel it and put it in two large tree bags.

I think the mixture of texture really make this tree one of my favorites I’ve ever done.
