Fusion Mineral Paint Soap Stone
Hey y’all and happy Tuesday! Over the weekend Chris and I picked up some Fusion Mineral Paint while we were out shopping. Chris actually picked out this gorgeous color, soap stone. It’s a deep gray with a slight blueish/purplish undertone. We moved his old TV stand we purchased from Goodwill into the guest bedroom to put the TV on in there. It was looking a little beat up, so we decided it just needed a new paint job. Here’s a little look at what she looked like before her new makeover. The picture doesn’t show it’s true self, but trust me she was lookin sad.
Chris had painted it with a white chalk paint previously, so it did have a good base to work with. I just did some light sanding and wiped it down with a microfiber cloth. Other than that is was pretty much primed and ready. If you’ve read my other blogs about Fusion Mineral Paint you heard me say that you don’t have to prime with this paint. It dries down to a matte finish. I even tested it out on a tile backsplash before we ripped our old one out to see if it would adhere and it did! It’s such a versatile paint.
Above you can see how well it covers. As soon as my brush did one stroke I was so excited! I mean look at it! Can I just say, this is hands down the best coverage I’ve gotten from any of the Fusion Mineral Paints I’ve tried. I’m not sure if it’s because the piece already had one coat of white paint existing, or that this color is just amazing. I’ll have to try it out on something else to really give it a good test. Typically I have to do two coats and sometimes three, but with soap stone I only needed one coat. So amazing right?
I think I finished this piece in record time. It only took me about 45 minutes to complete. I switched out the standard knobs that it came with with some extra knobs I had from Hobby Lobby. Switching out the hardware on furniture makes such a huge difference y’all! It’s like the icing on the cake!
I just quickly styled this area of the bedroom just so y’all could see how this stand looks now that it has a fresh coat of “Soap Stone”. I’m sure this little area will look different in a few weeks. But at least you get the idea.
Trust me. If you haven’t tried this paint. You need to! They just came out with a new limited collection with Lisa Marie Holmes that I’m sure I will be talking about very soon in an upcoming blog. So stay tuned for that!
Let me know in the comments what colors you’ve tried or are wanting me to try out! Y’all know Sunny D. had to make an appearance. He told me he approves of this paint too!
