Five Christmas Tablescape Essentials

Creating a tablescape for Christmas may feel like a lot of pressure, but it doesn’t have to be. You can create a special table for your friends and family with just five Christmas Tablescape Essentials to make the most impact this holiday season. Don’t feel like you have to create this huge elaborate centerpiece either. This year I opted out of a centerpiece and just made the greenery the focal point.

My Five Christmas Tablescape Essentials

Five Christmas Tablescape Essentials

Tablecloth or Table Runner

I like to use either a tablecloth or a table runner when I create a tablescape. It helps not only to protect your table, but it also adds in some texture to your base. You can never go wrong with a basic white or off white base.

5 Christmas Tablescape Essentials

Greenery

During the holidays I like to mix faux and real foilage when creating my tablescape. In this case I used a faux garland from Target along with some magnolia stems and holly berry stems from my yard. If you don’t have access to foilage here is a beautiful magnolia garland that would look amazing layered on your tables this year. Or you can ask a neighbor if you can clip some leaves from their yard.

Candles

Candles are a must. They immediatlely bring a cozy vibe to any space and they also make the room feel extra special. I like to use a few tapers along with a few tea lights scattered around the garland. Feel free to use mixed metals like gold and silver to create your look. Not everything has to be super matchy matchy. In this case I used pewter hurricanes and mercury glass taper holders.

Chargers

By adding chargers under your plates, it not only helps from food getting on your table or tablecloth, but it adds another layer of sparkle or contrast. In this case I used a gold metallic charger. These are actually from Dollar Tree. I also have some similar ones linked below as well if you don’t want to make a trip.

Napkin Rings

I like to do something special with my napkins, whether that be to fold them in a special way or add a little something to them. This year I picked some holly berry stems from the yard and simply placed them underneath the silver napkin ring for a little touch of red.

Thanks for flying by and I hope you enjoy the Holiday Season!
