How to Style Your Stove

Styling your stove or cooking area does not have to be difficult. I know it’s not on the top of people’s priority list, but nonetheless, this is what I’m here for. So today I’m here to show you how to style your stove using a few simple essentials. Functionality is always my priority when it comes to our kitchen. We use it daily, so not only do I want it to look pretty, but I want it to be super functional.

8 Essentials For Styling Your Stove

Cookbook Stand – I just got this wooden one for my birthday and I absolutely love it. No joke, I saw one of Joanna Gaines’ cooking videos and I zoomed in to see what she was using to hold her own cookbook. I know I’m a fan girl…and I’m proud of it. lol! The best part about this one is that it holds the pages with these little wooden pieces. There are so many cute ones out there, but none of them had page holders. So of course I had to style my Magnolia Table Volume 1. I can’t wait for Volume 2 to come out! Eeekk!!!

Dutch Oven – I really love having a dutch oven sitting out on my stove. Of course it gets its use, but honestly they are so heavy I don’t mind them sitting out. You could even add a pop of color with them too. This one is from the Hearth and Hand line at Target if you’re interested.

Salt & Pepper jars – You’ll probably notice a theme here. I’m here for all things Joanna. I love these salt & pepper cellars. It’s just an easy way to season your food while cooking. I also recently added this nifty little fresh pepper grinder that comes with a tiny scoop.

Butcher Block – This comes in handy when you need to corral a few different items on your counter. We got this one as a wedding gift and I absolutely have loved it. Keep them oiled and they will last forever!

Crock or Pitcher – You can get creative when it comes to holding your utensils. I typically use a crock or pitcher to house all of my wooden utensils. I like to keep some of the other not so cute utensils in my drawer and just keep the like ones together. They also dry really well after I’ve hand washed them by standing up like this.

Olive Oil – You can certainly purchase another vessel for your olive oils, but typically when I’m shopping I just go for ones in a glass jar that won’t look offensive sitting out. This one from Terra Delyssa is one of my favorites!

Candle – It wouldn’t be a styling blog without a candle now would it. After cooking I like to burn a soy candle on my butcher block. This one is from Hazel Candle Co. It’s their Citrus and Gardenia scent which is my favorite!

Towel – It’s always functional and handy to have a towel near by. I try to keep ones that I can actually use on the stove. Of course decorative ones look fab too, but honestly when I need to wipe something down I have to have a towel handy. This one is from Grove Collaborative. They are super durable and absorbent!

To Add some Personality…

One non-essential but super cute way to add some personality to this space is to add a piece of artwork. I recommend it being something framed behind glass just in case you have a splatter. Today I used this framed piece of black and white photography. The black thin frame helped to tie in with the other black iron elements around our kitchen. You could also have seasonal art pieces for this area too. Be creative and add your own flair!
