Hey friends and Happy Monday! I hope y’all had a wonderful weekend full of holiday festivities! I am slowly but surely getting back to the grind. Today I am revealing Chris’ new live edge desk. I shared a few sneak peeks of it last month over on my Instagram stories, but I’ve been waiting to share it in his new office. I was so happy to collaborate with my friend Jared from @woodworksbyjared on this blog for you today. If you’re not already following Jared on Instagram you need to. He is a woodworking genius. Chris has always wanted a desk like this, but we just never pulled the trigger. So we were super thrilled to have worked with Jared to make his wishes come true. It is a one of a kind piece that he will treasure forever, and even pass down through the family.

Jared made this table top from one slab of walnut and he filled in some of the holes with a blue resin to give it an added touch of coolness. His friend Nick @blackout_fab256 who’s a metal fabricator, did these amazing steel legs with a special blending on the joints. Chris’ style is definitely more industrial so I thought these legs would be a nice touch in his office. They are very similar to the legs on our kitchen table that we adore so much.

Here’s a few looks at the process. Jared also has amazing videos over on his IG that are seriously mesmerizing to watch. Something about watching the resin pour into the holes of the wood is so gratifying.

Jared and Nick were so nice enough to hand deliver our desk to us before we moved to South Carolina. He also ships nationwide! He is the nicest guy and you can tell that he takes pride in everything he does.

We are simply over the moon with how his desk turned out. Thank you so much Jared for pouring your heart and soul into everything you make, you are a true craftsman and we will cherish this desk for decades to come.
