Plan With Me!

Happy New Year Friends! I do apologize for the small break I took during the holidays, but I am back in action and can’t wait to bring you along for some new and exciting adventures! A new year is a chance to reflect, a chance for us to start fresh. I typically don’t make resolutions on New Years because, well I don’t like putting that kind of pressure on myself. One thing that helps me stay accountable is to plan. I don’t think I’ve ever done a “planning blog” before, but I feel like in 2019 I want to step outside the box a bit and introduce more lifestyle content into this little blog. Of course my passion is and always will be home decor, so don’t you worry friends. I just think it’s fun to read different content every now and again. I love when the bloggers I follow step outside their comfort zone and share something outside their niche. So here’s a little “Plan with Me” blog today…and I hope you’ll enjoy it!

On one of my mom’s shopping trips to TJ Maxx before the holidays she sent me a picture of this Rae Dunn planner  and I knew I had to have it. So she saved it for me for Christmas and I absolutely love it! It is a little bigger than what I’m used to, but I’m really liking it! I have been using planners since I can remember. There’s just something about putting pen to paper that I have always enjoyed. I have tried to keep everything in my phone, but I always come back to my planner. Here’s a few of my planners from the past 4 years. I really do love Erin Condren’s beautiful planners. You can customize them however you want, which I love! And they are the perfect size! The nice thick vinyl covers never get ripped or damaged which is nice since I tend to toss it in my bag. Right now they are 20% off until January 2nd!

So to get started I always light a candle and put on my favorite music to set the right vibe. I know it sounds funny, but I have to have the right environment to plan. So after my little ritual I get out my trusty colorful pens and go to town! Sometimes it involves doing a whole week and other times it involves just a few days depending on the week. I like to plan out my Instagram posts, my blog posts, at least 2 cleaning tasks per day, and our meals for the week. Now, everyone is going to have different items that they want to include but those are typically my main points that always get written down.

I picked up these stickers from Amazon awhile back and I’m loving them! They give your planner a great vibe and keep you inspired. I mean, what’s planning if you can’t decorate right?!! So after I have written out my main points I will go back and add in my decorations. It’s honestly very therapeutic for me. It typically takes me a good 20-30 minutes of quiet time to get one week done. Of course I will go back and add things during the week, but this is what keeps my life organized and on track. And most of all, it keeps me accountable. At the end of the week I like to take a look back and write down at the bottom right of my planner what is one good thing that happened to me this week. It’s my little time for reflection before moving on to the next week. 🙂
