DIY Photo Framing Project

Welcome back y’all. I wanted to share this easy DIY photo framing project. I did this over a year ago but I never actually shared it. Shame on me. I found these amazing frames at Michael’s on super clearance! I think they ended up being $11 each. I will link some similar ones below of various sizes. They were just the right finish of wood that I was wanting for our bedroom. They also came with a mat so who would ever know that they weren’t professionally matted?

Similar Frames at Michaels

11 x 14 Frame with 5 x 7 mat in Whitewash $12.97 clearance

11 x 14 Frame with mat in Walnut $29.99 (use Michael’s 50% off coupon)

16 x 20 Frame with 11 x 14 mat in Whitewash $18.49 each

Three of these photos were taken by my friend Alex Thornton. She is an excellent photographer in Charleston who does weddings all over the Southeast. If you are in the area I highly recommend her! Hi Alex if you are reading this. 🙂 I went over to Snapfish and had them printed on 11×14 sized photo paper in a matte finish which works best under glass. They were $7.99 each but I had a coupon code for 40% off making the grand total with shipping for 4 photos under $35! Snapfish always has coupon codes so be sure to utilize them, as well as use Ebates for 5% cash back! Sometimes glossy photos can adhere to glass if there is any sort of change in temperature and it makes it impossible to get them out of the frame without damaging the photo. That is why I choose matte finish. Just a little tip. I decided to go with black and white for a more classic look for our bedroom.

Then I used some washi tape to attach the photos to the back of the mat. I decided to use washi tape because it would be easier to peel off than scotch tape if I ever wanted to change them out with different photos in the future.

The grand total for this project came under $75 for 4 frames. Pretty decent little DIY project!

Of course little Mickey D. had to have his photo framed. He thinks he’s the king of the house…aka King McAlister!

Thank you for flying by my nest little birdies! I hope you have a wonderful day!

xoxo,

Robyn
