Living Room Spring Refresh

Happy Tuesday! This morning I felt like giving our living room a Spring refresh. I rearranged the sitting area to open up the space a bit and add in some greenery for Spring time. This space has been rearranged so many different times, but to me that’s the fun of it! I do feel like this set up is a little more inviting when you first walk in our house. I also made it a challenge and used the items I already had in the house.

Here’s a little before shot from this past Fall.

I sold our blue and white chairs you see above, and put our houndstooth chairs in here when we got our recliners for the family room. I’m loving all the black and gray patterns playing together in this room. Don’t be afraid to mix patterns y’all. It gives your room interest and texture. When you do this your eye jumps all around and not on just one thing in the room.

My husband found these trunks at Goodwill as well as the coffee table. I think adding unexpected treasures to your home will give it character that you might not always find in furniture stores. I like a mix of old and new, and this space is full just that.

I added in some greenery to give it a cozy and Springy feel. I get most of my greenery from Hobby Lobby. I find they have the best prices!

I rotated the rug to elongate this room and it has made such a difference. This front room serves three purposes, the entryway to our home, a breakfast nook, and this living room. I didn’t want it to be super formal, but just a place you could grab a book and curl up and read. Homes are for living not just for looks in my book.

For the most part this is a neutral space, but I like adding in little pops of color through greenery and books. I found a couple of these books at Goodwill as well.

Styling your side tables with a tray helps all the items look cohesive on the table top. I also like to decorate in threes and fours. I added in some height with this white pitcher filled with greenery. Varying the height of your items also helps to add interest so your eye doesn’t fixate on one specific item.

I went super simple in our breakfast area. Just a simple jug with lambs ear. I love the pop of blue in this neutral space! It also brings out the blue in our rug as well.

Don’t feel like you have to buy new things just to make a space feel different. I used what I had in our house and just found new homes for them. Shop your house first and find a new way to repurpose items you already have. Giving a space a new perspective is just the thing to make your home feel fresh and new for Spring!

Thank you so much for flying by today! Have a wonderful day y’all!
