Summer Essentials

Hey friend! Now that we are officially into Summer I thought I would do a quick roundup of some of my favorite Summer Essentials. These are items I like to have around for my home during the Summer months. I also included a few items that I’ve also added to my own wish list.

We spend a lot of time out on our porch when the weather is nice. I like to have lots of cozy items out there like big pillows. I picked these huge pillows from Target at the beginning of Spring and I absolutely love them. They are perfect for propping yourself up on the sofa and are made of such a nice quality fabric that’s suitable for outdoors.

Something that is always flowing at our house is sweet tea. I usually bust out our Ice Tea Maker during this warmer months because it makes brewing tea that much easier!

While we are out on the porches I like to have incense burning to keep away any pesky insects. I tried out these cool incense from Nantucket Spider. They aren’t overpowering and I love that I won’t forget about an open flame with pets running around. They offer a few different scents as well. I have only tried the Sun and Sand scent and it’s very nice and Summery! They also make a nice insect repellant spray that’s also DEET Free.

Music is a given when you’re outside and having fun. I love using a portable speaker like this one from JBL. You can take it to the pool, the beach, the lake because it’s waterproof!

There’s nothing worse than a sweaty cup. I hate the water rings on a hot Summer day. I’ve always believed in Tervis Tumblers. They are an investment but dang if they never dissappoint! We’ve had a set since we’ve been married and they are still going strong. I love these colorful ones for Summer! I also use mine for hot coffee sometimes too!

Would it even be Summer unless there was a striped beach towel? I love these Turkish Cotton Cabana Striped towel set. They have other color sets as well if you don’t want assorted ones. Such a classic look!

When’s the last time you went for a picnic with a proper picnic basket? I know I haven’t in quite sometime. How perfect is this picnic basket with everything you need?!! Definitely adding this one to my wish list!

My mom walked in to my house the other week with one of these Bogg Bags and I thought they were so cool. It’s almost like if Crocs made a beach bag. This is perfect for Summer outings at the pool, the beach or even just sporting events with your kiddos. You can find deals on them on Ebay, Poshmark and Mercari as well. So genius that you can just hose them right off!

I raved about these melamine plates and bowls over on my Instagram. My husband can’t tell me enough how much he loves these plates. Everytime he loads the dishwasher he mentions it. Our regular set of plates from Pottery Barn are a little on the heavy side, so having these to use outdoors is perfect. I also really love that they look like stoneware until you touch them. As I’m typing this I’m ordering more because I just saw that they make a dinner bowl as well! Such a good staple that you will use from years to come. They have other color options too like dark blue, black and brown.

Speaking of eating outdoors. You know as soon as you bring food outside those little bugs find it in no time don’t they. I love this mesh dome from the Hearth and Hand line. It’s so functional yet pretty!
