Decorating a Kitchen for Fall
Happy Fall! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! We pretty much just chilled all weekend at the house. We watched football, some Netflix shows, and just vegged. My husband had been traveling for weeks, so it was nice to have some chill time around the house. His Appalachian Mountaineers won against the Tar Heels so that was so exciting! My Gamecocks however couldn’t pull it together. Maybe next year. So enough about football. Decorating a Kitchen for Fall is so much fun, so I hope you’ll enjoy this mini tour of all the simple updates I did for the new season.
I felt like it was looking a little cluttered and unorganized so I put on my Prince Purple Rain shirt today and got to town! I also filmed a video on this whole process if you’re interested. I will link it here. While I cleaned and decorated I listened to some 90s pop. Music is a must when you’re cleaning!
I don’t really have any set method to the way I do things, I just kind of move around from area to area cleaning and decorating…cleaning and decorating. I fiddle around with things until they look like they are in their new home. Just play and have fun!
I did need to switch out the florals above our counter tops. I took out the lavender and white florals and replaced those with cotton stems and an orange bloom to bring in some Fall colors. For the most part I kept it pretty neutral in here. I decided that a lot of orange would just be too much, and I wanted to use what I had in this space. I also like to keep some greenery in here since our walls are green. I think it gives it a nice balance.
I cleared out my antique mail slot and removed some of the additional items I had living in there. Sometimes less is more. I love these fabric pumpkins. Anytime I see them at the Target dollar spot I have to pick them up! I love the white pop against the wood.
For this faux marble tray on our island I just added a few pumpkins, a candle and a flour sifter with some greenery. Just because it’s Fall doesn’t mean you have to get rid of all your greenery. Remember not everything turns brown in the Fall.
Over on my sink I kept it really simple. I added a green pumpkin, a tea towel from the Target Dollar Spot, and my soap dispenser along with my Grove Collaborative scrub brush.
I’m really loving this simple and clean look in here. I do a lot of cooking in my kitchen, so it’s always nice to have enough clean surfaces to actually cook. I’m all about function when it comes to my kitchen. I hope y’all enjoyed this quick little Fall update. You can watch my video on Instagram and YouTube. I’ll have all the links to some of the decor pieces down below if you’re interested!
Can you spot Mickey D. in this photo? I didn’t realize he was there until I edited this photo. If you missed my Fall Home Tour you can click here to read that!
Thanks for flying by!
