DIY Botanical Art

A few weeks ago Chris and I went to 2nd and Charles, a used book store, and I picked up a few books including the one I used to create this botanical art. If you have priced out botanical framed art online you know it can be super pricey. So I decided to create my own DIY Botanical Art using a few pages from the Trees book by Benjamin Perkins.

I found a few pages that I wanted to feature including the description of the figure of crab apples and I framed them side by side. I used an old Hobby Lobby art frame that I didn’t want anymore, and repurposed it for this project. I will link some similar frames below to the one I used. I especially like the floating frames for botanical prints. It kind of gives them an updated look. The cool thing about them is that you can switch them out throughout the year to cater to each season.

So next time you’re at a used book store be on the lookout for botanical books like this one. You can also find some good used book deals on Amazon as well.

I love the classic look botanicals bring to a space. I wanted our coffee bar to look almost like a vintage potting station, and I think the addition of the botancial print just added that feature I was going for.
