Organizing Under the Sink

Happy Thursday! The other day I decided to tackle the dreaded under the sink mayhem! I had a ton of products that I no longer use so it was nice to declutter and get rid of stuff that we don’t use day to day. I am a bit of a hoarder when it comes to cleaning products. Over the last two years I have really started using safer products with less harsh chemicals so needless to say I had a whole bin of old products. I hope you will enjoy this little organizing under the sink share today. I have to admit that I really love a good before and after. There is something so gratifying about organizing a new space in your home. I’m all about simplifying lately. With that being said let’s get to it shall we!

Here’s a little taste of what we were dealing with before. I honestly didn’t know how much product I had until I started pulling things out. This will now come in handy when I’m placing my next Grove Collaborative order. I gave it a good cleaning and sorted through what I wanted to keep and what I needed to put in our downstairs kitchen as overflow.

I pulled out my lazy susan I got from Goodwill that I have used for many different projects, but I thought it would come in handy so I could see all of my go to cleaning products. In the back of the cabinet I have some extra rolls of paper towels and also some of my extra seasonal Mrs. Meyers spray, dish soap and hand soap.

I pulled out this silverware caddy that I had in the back of my pantry and thought it would be perfect for housing more dish rags, extra brushes and my Swiffer pads. It’s also easy to take out and replenish if need be. I feel like the one thing I’m so guilty of is, if I don’t see it we must be out. This way I can plainly see how many dish rags I have left or if I need to buy more Swiffer pads etc. I really like seeing how many dishwasher packs I have left as well. This is one thing I did upstairs in our laundry room refresh that you can read about here. I put them in a clear container so I know when I’m about to run out. After getting rid of a lot of the packaging it also really helped in freeing up some space.

I used some 3M Command hooks to hang my microfiber dishtowel and my gloves so I have easy access to them. Sometimes I forget to use gloves when doing the dishes because they are always crammed way back in a drawer or in the back of the cabinet. I highly recommend using gloves because you can get the water super hot without scorching your skin and you can save your manicure!
