Coffee Table Styling Essentials

Hey friends! I wanted to share my four coffee table styling essentials with you today. They will help bring in texture and interest to your tables. I never want the table to feel super cluttered so I chose my pieces carefully and with intention.

Plants or florals will help bring in some natural color. You can choose either real or faux. In this case I chose a faux fern because we have a cat. I also really pay attention to the color of the vessel it sits in. If my table is wood I want to use a contrasting color. If for instance my table was white I’d choose something wood or black.

Trays are an essential for me because they will help corral the smaller pieces on your table. For instance this mirrored tray is used for a catchall for my candle and coasters. They also help keep your remotes in place too!

Books are a great way to bring in some added interest and height. You can place decorative items on top of them or place your florals/plants on top. I have some of my top coffee table books over on my Amazon shop if you’re interested.

The last essential is a candle. It will automatically bring in warmth and ambience to the table. Also, if you have a mirrored tray like the one I’ve used the reflection of the flame will dance around the mirror creating an immediate cozy vibe! I loved this concrete candle from the Hearth and Hand line at Target. It’s a great scent for Fall as well!

* Final Tip * To achieve that layered and textured look be sure to have a mixture of finishes. In this case we have glass with the cloche, wood & marble with the coasters, ceramic and concrete with the pot and candle, and a mix of metal with the tray and cloche base. Don’t be afraid to mix styles either. As long as you’re using a balanced color palette it will all come together nicely in the end. Happy Styling friend!
