My Favorite City in the World – Charleston, SC

Hey y’all and Happy Friday! The other day Mapiful sent me this awesome poster map of my favorite city in the world – Charleston, SC. I couldn’t wait to share it with you guys! This company was so nice to work with, and they really have such a cool concept. You can choose any city in the world and they will print it out on a nice quality poster of your liking. They have so many options on size and colors to choose from as well. I went with the classic black and white print, and I think it’s a wonderful new addition to my office.

For any new readers I was born in Charleston, SC and raised in Summerville, SC a suburb of Charleston. I hold this city very dear to my heart. Even though it has grown so much in the last decade, I will always remember it as the most quaint city in the world. There is so much culture and pride from it’s citizens unlike anywhere else I’ve ever been. At every turn there is some small detail of charm that you will discover that you hadn’t seen days prior. From it’s cobblestone side streets, to the beautiful window boxes bursting with flowers, to the intricate iron work on each secret garden gate, this city is like no other. Each building has a story that’s dripping in history and character. Whenever I worked downtown Charleston I would pinch myself on my walk to work to make sure I wasn’t dreaming. I felt so lucky to be apart of that city, as many people indeed do. There is just something about it that you can’t feel unless you’re there. I highly recommend it to anyone for a nice weekend getaway.

It’s definitely not a well kept secret anymore, but that’s ok. Anytime someone asks me where I’m from and I answer, they then usually ask “why are you here?” or “why did you leave”. I know we will be back there someday. Our lives are here in Georgia, but our hearts will always be in Charleston. I could go on and on about Charleston if you let me. 🙂 I wanted to share a glimpse of this beautiful city I will always call home, and I thought the best way to share was through the lens of my good friend, Alex, with Alex Thornton Photography. She is a local photographer who shot our wedding. She always has me missing Charleston every time I see her dreamy photos on Instagram. She is such a talent and knows exactly how to capture a moment. If you’re in the Charleston area and need a photographer. She’s your gal!

I mean….Charleston…you’re one pretty lady! Thank you also to Mapiful for sending me this amazing poster of Charleston, my favorite city in the world! I will adore it forever. I think these posters would make amazing wedding gifts, anniversary gifts and even a very personal holiday gift! I could even see a gallery wall of different size maps that tell a story of your life journey!
