Botanical Water Bottles

Welcome back friends! I hope y’all had a nice weekend! I’m sorry this blog is a little later than usual today. Yesterday I took a day to just chill and do nothing since we’ve been going non stop since Wednesday of last week. I’ve been getting a lot of questions on social media about how I created these Botanical Water Bottles. So I decided to do a quick little step by step guide on how to create these fun centerpieces!

I did this quick little DIY about a week ago when I posted about my natural tablescape, and this morning I took a picture below of how they were holding up after 1 week. So far so good. They might be a little cloudy but you can easily change out the water just like you would with a normal vase of flowers. I did fill the bottles to the top with water after photographing my tablescape last week since the vases were getting cloudy.

I just used clipping that I found in my own yard that I thought would look cool submerged in water. In the first 3 bottles I used fern, boxwood, and red-tipped photinia. For this one below I’m showing you is an emerald green arborvitae that we have out in front of our front porch.

So I just cut about 3 sprigs from the shrub. I then got my IKEA Korken bottle and inserted the springs down in the bottle. I then used a plastic funnel and a measuring cup of water and poured until it reached the top of the bottle. I recommend filling them up all the way so your bottles don’t get cloudy. I then kind of shook the bottle to get the springs where I wanted them. I did not add any additives to the water because I wanted to experiment with how long they would last just with water. I’ll give y’all an update on when they start to look too wilted or water logged.

That’s it my friends. I told you it was super easy! I might try it with flowers to see how long they will last. It’s just harder to fit flowers into a smaller hole so I might try the flowers with my mason jars and see what happens.

Thank you for flying by my nest y’all! Have a wonderful day!

xoxo,

Robyn 🙂
