DIY Home Collage

My husband and I have moved around a lot since we have been together so I thought it would be cool to put a collage together of all the different homes we’ve lived in over the past 9 years. I had a frame from Michael’s laying around that we picked up on clearance that I thought would be perfect for this little DIY Home Collage I have been wanting to create.

I printed out the photos of all the homes in black and white using my Free Prints app since I thought it looked more timeless that way. So many times I think people forget to actually print a physical photo in this digital age we live in. Each month I like to print out a few photos of things that we’ve done that month and keep them in an album. Free Prints is also offering a 20-page softcover photo book per month for only $7.99. You really are only really paying for shipping and handling. How cool is this?! Now you don’t have to put all the photos in an album, they are already bound for you! This would be such a cool idea to do each month for a new baby! So by the time they are 1 you have 12 books of their first year!

I then found a cool quote from Pinterest that I printed out as well and put that in the center of all the photos.

I used the mat from the frame to tape the pictures to in order to make the collage. I placed the homes in order of succession to create a timeline. I wanted a border around the quote and to give it some color so I used the throw away insert from the frame and cut out the blue accents to make a border around the quote. You can do this with some scrapbook paper as well, but I just recycled what I had and it was the perfect shade of blue!

Every time I look at it I think of all the memories we’ve shared in these homes, but ultimately it doesn’t matter where we live. Home to me will always be wherever my husband and family is.
